Shark Alert
July 7, 2010
Colgate Long Course District Championships (July 23-25) are a little more than 2 weeks away! All
swimmers registered for the summer session in Groups 1-SR have been
entered in this Championship meet, unless an opt-out notice was timely
received (by the opt-out date of June 27th) by Coach Jerry at
meets@schenectadyswimclub.org. Meet entries for this meet
will be posted on the SSC website by the end of this week. Any changes
or corrections to those entries should immediately be communicated to
Coach Jerry via e-mail. Any SSC swimmer who is not registered for the
summer, but is training with a summer league swim team, is welcome to
swim in this meet. Contact Coach Jerry to make arrangements.
We have reserved on-campus housing for our families at Colgate for the LC District Championship meet. It is our tradition to stay together as a team. Please make your reservations through the Club. Housing reservation forms for LC District Championships have been posted on-line as
well as distributed through the family folders. Please get your housing
forms in early as on-campus housing may become limited-first come,
first served. Keep in mind that we will have a practice for SSC
swimmers at Colgate on Thursday evening at 6:30 with 13-over prelims on
Friday morning. 12 & under swimmers do not swim prelims until
mid-day on Friday, so they may travel out to Colgate Friday
morning. 8 & under swimmers only swim prelims on Saturday
& Sunday.
We will once again be having our traditional team dinners Friday and Saturday nights at LC Championships at Colgate. Team family dinner forms for LC District Championships have also been posted on-line
as well as distributed through the family folders. All family members
are welcome to sign-up for the team dinners. Dinner forms and payment
should be returned by Thursday, July 15th. Don’t miss Saturday night’s
annual talent show (it was a blast last year)!
Remember to check your Shark suits and caps prior to Championships!
Equipment order forms can be found using the tab at the top of the SSC
web page. If you are in need of new equipment, please contact our Team
Equipment Managers, Bryce & Ellie Colby (e-mail address:
bcolby@nycap.rr.com.).
Summer Zones Applications are due July 14th.
