Good Luck to all Shark Swimmers who will be swimming in Silver Champs this weekend! All swimmers are welcome to continue to attend practices through Gold Champs.

Good Luck to Shark Swimmers who will be competing later this month at Gold Championships at RPI, Speedo Sectional Championships in Maryland, and in April, at Zones in Rochester…Swim fast; we’ll be cheering for you!

Gold Championships are a little more than 2 weeks away! On-line Parent Work Sign-up Sheets for Gold Championships (hosted by SSC) will be posted on the SSC website this weekend.  Each family with entered swimmers will be expected to sign-up and work at least one shift per day for each day that your swimmer is entered in the meet. Also, as Gold Championships is the major fundraising meet of the year for SSC and we need the help of every team family, those families without swimmers entered in the meet will be expected to sign-up and work at least one job shift during the meet. Concession Donation sign-up sheets will also be posted on-line as well. Please sign-up to bring a food/drink donation (Gatorade, bottled water, muffins, etc.) to the meet.  Thank-you for your donations!

Shark Shout-Outs are available in the Gold Championships Meet Program. For a $5 donation to the team, you can place a note to your swimmer in our Gold Championships Program Book. Order forms have been placed in the family folders at both practice sites. Contact Ann Korzun with questions at akorzun@nycap.rr.com or call her at 877-6571.

The Spring session begins April 12th.  The Summer session will begin on June 7th. Spring/Summer registration materials will be mailed to current swimmers in mid-March. Spring/Summer try-out dates will be as follows:

            Saturday, March 27th at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School at 11:30am
            Saturday, April 10th at Skidmore College at 11:00am
            Monday, April 12th at Union College at 6:00pm

Swimmers may try out at any practice site-regardless of where they intend to practice.  If you know people who are interested in our team, have them check our website or contact us for further information.  We will be offering Pre-Competitive groups during both Spring and Summer sessions.

March 8th – Deadline for Ads and Sponsorships for the upcoming Gold Championships. Please note that you receive 50% credit of the ad value that you obtain in credit toward future registration.  Ad info can be found in the front pocket of your Blue Book. If you have questions or if you have ads to submit, please e-mail them to Vic Romanov at vicromanov@schenectadyswimclub.org or call him at 882-9850.

March 10th – Deadline for Ordering the 2009-2010 Team Photo.  If you have not already placed your photo order, you may do so by mailing a check made payable to “SSC”, by March 10th to: Victor Romanov, 2060 Cook Rd., Charlton, NY 12019. Please indicate the number of Team Photos that you wish to order. Photos are $9.00 each and will be distributed at the Spring Banquet.

March 17th - The Gold Championship Psych Party will be held in the Cafeteria at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake HS immediately following practice on Wednesday, March 17th. Practice for both sites (Skidmore & BH-BL/Union) will be held at BH-BL that day. The Club will provide a complete pasta/meatball dinner to the swimmers. No prior sign-up or fee is required. Team equipment will be available for sale at the psych party as well as Gold Champs t-shirts and Meet programs (assuming those orders arrive timely).

March 19th – Applications to serve as the Adirondack District Junior Athlete Representative must be received by JoAnn Faucett by March 19th.  Interested current High School Sophomores are encouraged to apply.  Details regarding the AD District Junior/Senior Athlete Representative position and the application process are available on the AD website.

March 19-21 – Gold Championships at RPI.  This end-of-season Championship meet is hosted by SSC.  All swimmers with qualifying times will be entered in the meet, including those achieving Gold Championship qualifying times at Silvers.

March 30th - The Spring Banquet will be held on Tuesday, March 30th at the Vista Restaurant in Jonesville/Clifton Park.  Reservation information and forms have been placed in the family folders at Skidmore and BH-BL High School. Reservations and payment are due by March 21st. Please contact Linda Allen at lallen8@nycap.rr.com with any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone (Journey to Silvers through Senior) at the banquet. All parents, siblings, etc. are welcome and invited. Awards from Silver and Gold Championships will be distributed along with team trophies.
